BIO
Mike Railey is a singer/songwriter in Denver, CO. He started developing his guitar style through improvisation and study of Eric Johnson and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He has played in numerous bands, including The Supporting Cast and Technicolor Riots. His solo material expands on this with indie-pop sensibilities.
In early 2021, Mike gained online attention streaming weekly cover requests of Weezer songs on Rivers Cuomo's website, learning and covering over 200 songs in a year. Mike's rocked-out version of "Feels Like Summer" inspired Rivers to add it that fresh take to their 2021 Hella Mega stadium tour.
His debut album These Octagonal Eyes released March 4th, 2022. Featuring the singles “Lumberjack” and “Fell Flat”, the album has alternative and indie sonic influences including Toro y Moi, Weezer, Death Cab For Cutie, David Byrne, My Chemical Romance, and Passion Pit.
Mike's sophomore album Pont Neuf is a collection of intimate piano-based songs inspired by chamber pop records including The Beatles' Sgt. Peppers and Weezer's OK Human, as well as songwriters such as Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Pamela Machala. Self-described as a 'trojan horse of sad songs', the lyrics alternate between themes of nature, history, and internal struggles of depression and fears of climate change.
